The Township Clerk maintains the records of the Township as the secretary of the township board. The clerk must certify signatures on certain documents, keep an accurate record of all meetings and is responsible for publishing notices and ordinances of the Township. The Clerk also serves as the Chief Election Official of the Township and works with the County Clerk's office in this capacity.
The Freedom on Information Act (FOIA) allows members of the public to make requests for inspection or for copies of public records for Township offices under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act “FOIA” (Illinois General Assembly – 5 ILCS 140/1 et seq)
